Highlights

Group Calls: IP|Connect allows the PC user to make group calls regardless of fleet. With this powerful control a single radio gateway can support multiple groups, one at a time.

Direct Connect Calls: IP|Connect allows the PC user to initiate one to one calls with other users on the same iDen network regardless of unit or fleet id number.

Call Alert Calls: IP| Connect allows the PC user to send page like alerts to users stored in the centralized database.  This feature is especially helpful when field users operate in loud environments or may be away from their phone.

View Name of Calling Radio: PC users can see the name or alias of any unit stored in the centralized database.  This database may be updated by dispatchers to allow aliasing of visitor radios.

Access Centralized Database of Users: The directory of individual users can be updated from a central location or remote dispatch positions and automatically distributed to other Remote PCs. As new radio users are added to the system your PC users can maintain an up to date list of field personnel and can contact them easily using the sort function.

Catalyst Introduced Console, Presented Technical Track at IWCE

Thursday, February 28

Catalyst once again introduced a ground-breaking innovation at IWCE. Robin Grier, the President of Catalyst, was joined by Major Steven Williams of the Florida Highway Patrol to discuss “Disaster Recovery, Pushing the Envelope with Wireless IP.”

The Florida Highway Patrol has created a Mobile Command Vehicle that provides the full functionality of a primary dispatch center with three independent methods of network connectivity to other locations – a first. FHP officers can drive the vehicle to any location – inside or outside the state -- and begin dispatching in minutes if a hurricane, fire, or other disaster disrupts or even completely eliminates the local facility. Discover how the Florida Highway Patrol provides a flexible response to evolving communications needs across the state, allowing first responders to link any of 500 talk groups and conventional channels for federal, state, and local agencies in virtually any combination, instantly. Management issues including operational and contingency plans will be discussed.
