Page 1 of 4 IP Link™ provides interoperability between various radio frequencies and vendors. Download the product brochure.
Highlights
- Existing radio systems, networks and frequencies need not be changed - Saving
each agency millions of dollars.
IP Link does not require you to change your existing radio network infrastructure
at all. IP Link is an overlay system; adding Gateways and PC dispatch
positions to your existing radio infrastructure, tying these together over IP-based
networks.
IP Network connectivity is dramatically scalable - Providing Immense Flexibility.
Expanding the capability of IP Link is seamless and painless. To add a
radio site or new dispatch position to the interoperability patch scenario,
simply add the IP address of the Gateway and radio to your network configuration,
and now this radio is part of the new interoperability patch. Depending
upon bandwidth, which could be solved with multicast -- a future capability
from Catalyst -- interoperable networks can scale from a very few to many hundreds
or thousands.
- Agency connectivity is easily made, easily changed, and readily available
- Providing cost-effective, quickly enabled links.
Creating interoperable patches,
modifying existing patches, and deleting patches are all accomplished through
a simple, intuitive user interface. Establishing a patch scenario, even
one that includes many radios and Gateways, is accomplished in a few seconds.
- IP is a standard, ubiquitous across all interested parties - Eliminating
protocol incompatibilities.
Catalyst uses standard IP transport and control protocols that are in use today
and accepted by any router or network equipment device that might be part of
your network infrastructure. This ensures reliable communications, even
when you are passing interoperability voice and messages across different networks
of different organizations.
- Each agency maintains control
of its patch status - Providing best allocation of resources and eliminates
objections to joining the assembly. IP Link is a peer-to-peer network architecture,
allowing any organization that is part of a patch scenario to establish the
patch, or elect to be not part of the patch. In this way every organization
is in control of their own network, their own resources, and their own wishes
to join in interoperability patch or not.

Newsflash |
Catalyst Introduced Console, Presented Technical Track at IWCEThursday, February 28Catalyst once again introduced a ground-breaking innovation at IWCE. Robin Grier, the President of Catalyst, was joined by Major Steven Williams of the Florida Highway Patrol to discuss “Disaster Recovery, Pushing the Envelope with Wireless IP.” The Florida Highway Patrol has created a Mobile Command Vehicle that provides the full functionality of a primary dispatch center with three independent methods of network connectivity to other locations – a first. FHP officers can drive the vehicle to any location – inside or outside the state -- and begin dispatching in minutes if a hurricane, fire, or other disaster disrupts or even completely eliminates the local facility. Discover how the Florida Highway Patrol provides a flexible response to evolving communications needs across the state, allowing first responders to link any of 500 talk groups and conventional channels for federal, state, and local agencies in virtually any combination, instantly. Management issues including operational and contingency plans will be discussed.
