Software Engineer (JN0315)
Catalyst Communications is seeking an experienced, highly motivated software developer who enjoys design, development, and problem solving in a friendly, but technically challenging environment.
Catalyst project team members use their skills and experience in Voice over IP (VoIP), computer networking, radio systems and user interfaces to build products that are used by public safety, utilities, federal agencies and others for mission-critical applications.
The successful applicant will:
Work collaboratively with other experienced developers to create and maintain world-class products that are used to build software-based, distributed communication systems integrating diverse wireless communications systems and making them function as a single unified solution.
Create engineering tools and analytics to enhance performance and ease maintenance tasks.
Provide remote support for company products and customer networks when issues are escalated by Catalyst technicians.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years software development experience using C++ object-oriented programming for Windows
Extensive experience developing software for real-time or mission-critical applications in a distributed environment
Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Experience with CMS, SVN, Trac and similar development environments
Network programming experience: Windows Sockets and TCP/IP
Experience with voice codecs, AES/DES encryption, SIP, and RTP
Experience with STL, Templates, and Client/Server architectures
Experience with wireless communications, especially two-way radio including trunking systems
Multimedia programming experience using Visual C++
Experience with hardware requirements, design, development and testing
Solid knowledge of PCs (both software and hardware), routers, & other network components
Experience with development in a Unix or embedded environment
Experience with development using Microsoft .NET technologies
